Being an orthodox, I will celebrate Easter this week-end. As a french would say, "la piece de resistance" for the Easter meal is called cozonac and it looks like in this picture. Cozonac is also prepared for Christmas. The round version is only for Easter, and is filled up with sweet cheese and raisins.

Mmmmh I do believe it smelled great!
And I would want to taste the Cozonac, only I don't like raisins....

My favorite cozonac is with cocoa and nuts. The round one - pasca can be prepared also without raisins..

But I never supposed it is called cozonac.. If You look at the wiki datailes, there is other name for it "baba" or "babka" and that's the name we call it in Poland. I like it. But personally I prefered chease cakes and tarta. The latter is specialty of our own variation.. Shortcrust pastry carries cherries and meringue. Unfortunately its spring time and summer is schedule. No cakes at all i my home. Why? Who will guess?
