Well, I never thought about FPS as a part of army recruitment PR.. maybe it works in some parts of american mid-west.. they even choose Romney soon.. but here in Europe.. I don't think it works..
Once upon a time in Warsaw, the time when communism dying, one of my friend (it was before ethics conversatory, as far as I remember) tried to recruit me to one just borned political party. I read short agenda of this shit and one thing amused me a little bit.. "we support conscription".. )
I was pretty stupid at that time, so I actually didn't realize what crap I met. Nonetheless, I refuse my friend sayin' that my plan is to study philosophy till I start to get old and avoid draft.. By the way my friend is a public person now and chief of the acclaimed righty think-tank in Poland. They crying all the time for privatisation, deregulation, low taxes and all those things. But they don't say, it will be necessary to pay for breathing if only we met perfect free market model.
I like to play.. but i'm still a pacifist..

About the video, have you had the impression that it was more a recruitment PR? As far as I understood it is just to give respect to the "unknown" Tier soldiers, kind of that, as EA also is talking about.
Sure, it may be more a marketing strategy but at all I haven't seen such kind of support anywhere else at any gaming studio: http://www.medalofhonor.com/project-honor

That was my first impression. After more careful watching and finding out what is this EA initiative I see the point. Lyrics of the song could be about whatever (quite good poetry for a rock song) and the clip is a message more clear if You know about EA action. Now I blame Tier Soldier...
