Dirty Graphics Card

Post by MadMojo »

Hey there.

Today I removed cover + cooling from my graphics card to clean it a bit.
Before I tried to measure the cards temperatureunder load with GPU-Z (nice tool btw.)

I experienced about 100 °C during BF4 and 100% fan speed.

This is how the fan and heat sink looked when I opened the cards coverage:

This is how the thermal compound looked before and after cleaning the heat sink:

Fresh thermal compound, assembling all, I did the next test and yes:

max. Temp about 74°C and fan way more silent at about 60% speed.

When have you cleaned your PC the last time?
